Here's a great way to get up and running with a Rover for under $3k!

My 1994 Discovery SE7 is up for sale. Sadly, other interests have taken me beyond Rovering. Yes, it needs a little work: Needs a new radiator (old one's clogged up - this is a must, as it will begin to overheat if driven more than 20 miles, which I haven't let happen). Everything else is minor.

It runs great other than needing a new radiator. Recent brakes, major tune-up last year, new exhaust from muffler back. New gas tank, coolant tank, high-pressure steering hoses.

It has 165k miles (and Land Rover NA did a factory-authorized rebuild of the top 1/2 of the engine under warranty at 40k, so it's more like 125k miles). Caprice Green (a rare color only shipped to US in 1994 year), this truck has dual moonroofs, dual a/c, rear jump seats, cloth seating, and a tailgate ladder. For a Rover club owner, it's only $1200 and I'll throw in a LR tow hitch and factory repair manuals (mechanical and electric), plus a Haynes repair manual.
